From BBC world news
China Central Television said farmers were overspraying their crops with the growth promoter, hoping they could get their fruit to market ahead of the peak season and increase their profits.
Ain’t it always that bottom line

I believe the underlying cause of our National predicament is not what the Government is trying to take away from us, but rather, that we believe the Government, in all it’s perceived benevolence, has a right to say what we can have in the first place.
This power we call Government, was conceived to protect the lives and financial interests of a few wealthy men, who prospered at the expense of those less powerful.

Category: points to ponder
I’ve decided to add a new category to my blog..
Random points to ponder.
For posting well…random points to ponder.
Hopefully I can get some constructive discussions going on so please feel free to comment.
- If you asked a Policeman why they joined the force
and they answered honestly
do you think they’d say something like
“I joined to make my community a safer place“?
———
- If you asked a politician why they ran for office
and they answered honestly
Do you think they’d say something like
“I want to make the world a better place“?

Congressional Reform Act of 2011
1. No Tenure / No Pension.
A Congressman collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.
2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security.
All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately.
All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people, It may not be used for any other purpose.
3.Congress can purchase their own retirement plan , just as all Americans do.
4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5.Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.
6.Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.
7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 1/1/12.
The American people did not make this contract with Congressmen. Congressmen made all these contracts for themselves. Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career.. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators, so ours should serve their term(s), then go home and back to work.

It stands to reason that the longer you are on Facebook, the happier advertisers will be.
Advertisers love anything that keeps users on Facebook for longer and that is something Facebook has been brilliant at – keeping people engaged with the platform for increasingly longer periods of time.
- Susan Etlinger of the Altimeter Group.
So…is facebook a social networking site or a revenue generating site for advertisers?
- Facebook is a business.
- Their product is your personal information, internet browsing habits and time, Social Networking is just a convenient way to gather it.

Well as I type this, my main computer is happily downloading windoze updates once again trying for SP3. I didn’t realize I only had SP2 on there.
But the real reason for this post is to chronicle the last 6 months of this machine.
I got it from a friend who upgraded to a new machine, I wanted to use it mainly as a music studio for making my own CDs and Videos. So…
After wiping the old files left on here, I found that the …Oh crap!! I just noticed that my main machine is showing the downloading update icon but is still at 0%….I’ll be back.
OK…now SP3 has been downloaded and on my machine…updated as far as I can go with XP…notifications have been turned off so no more annoying shields popping up all the time.

Well this morning showed just how co-ordinated I can be at three in the morning after a whopping 4 hour sleep in which I had only been awakened twice…In case your wondering, that is a jar of maple syrup to sweeten my coffee…I opened it up and promptly dumped in a helping of non-dairy creamer.

…Oh Crap!

After many years of standing in the field across the road from me, this old Maple finally met the onward march of population expansion. When I first saw this tree it had an old crumbling deer stand in the fork where some hunter had sat for many years before it rotted apart. Although it is small and gnarled, the tree then withstood two tornadoes that I am aware of and still it lived. Then came the ultimate fate of us all…progress.

This is a not-so-good picture of really old Black Spruce along hyway 86 west of Tomahawk. Back in the 70s experts from Owens Ill. told me the trees were over 100 years old at that time due to the temps in the swamp. Although the trees look large in this image, the majority of them are under 15 feet tall.
